In this post, I want to show free-flow writing and how it can help you with your writing skill.
The current climate is grim, especially in India. With so many deaths and unaccounted deaths of Covid, my fear from the first wave is all coming true in the second wave. I will be happy if it doesn’t. But the complete failure of the Central Government to curb religious gatherings or political campaigns will push the death toll and Covid cases higher. We are not ready for this. We were never ready for this. The size of India is huge, the population is continuously increasing. The so-called system of democracy wasn’t designed for this scale. This is a systemic failure.
How do we solve such issues on a large scale? I don’t think any country is equipped with that. Even China had to use stricter measures when they tried to control Covid.
Solution on Individual Level
As a common man, what can you do? You can do a lot of things. At least, you can start with yourself and your own family.
- Protect them.
- Avoid crowded places.
- Use masks.
- Follow the social distancing rules.
India has not only failed to control the cases but has also not helped poor migrants who traveled many miles to head back to their hometowns. Remember, when the time will come to measure how we did on any issue, measure the progress of the poorest.
Anyhow, it’s too late. In a few days, the number of cases will explode in a large number. People are afraid, people are trying everything. I come from a city where there are a large number of doctors, but none of them are ready for a pandemic of this scale. This is not so easy to think and handle. Emotions come in between. And many people are battling for their loved ones.
Solution on a national level
What can we learn from the countries that have successfully controlled the pandemic?
- A systemic tracing and isolation of cases
- A strict lockdown to reduce the transmission and reduce the load on healthcare
- Do not get carried away after controlling the number of daily cases.
- Vaccinate the people
Currently, Bengal is due for state elections. If Prime Minister has any kind of semblance for the current situation, he will postpone the elections. Of course, it’s not entirely in his hand. He can convince EC (Election Commission).
What else?
We could have been able to avoid this situation. We had an entire year and a half to learn the major lessons on how to handle pandemics. But we blew it away. Now, we are scampering through the existing resources to help people in dire need.
Our so-called heroes, cricketers are such gutless humans that we can’t even expect anything from them. Barring a few, everyone is a puppet.
Anyhow, even if political parties have a short memory, people don’t. If my people have any iota of sense left, they will boot out these idiots in the next election.
Irrespective of what happens in an election, when we go to death bed, we must be able to answer our conscience.

Conclusion
In this post, I showed how to use free-flow writing. This is not perfect because this is not edited. Also, no writing will ever be perfect.
