The Songs Of Farewell – A Novel

Yes, are you ready to hear about my upcoming novel – The Songs of Farewell?

The original plan was to release in December 2020, but life had different plans. I am in the last phase of my editing and then I will be sending it to my copy editor and proofreader.

So why not a sneak peek into the novel?

Synopsis

In order to avoid the world from collapsing, a failed humanoid must find out why humanity was wiped out. But when the humanoid comes into conflict with a rogue humanoid, he realizes he must reach Federal Security Agency and investigate the details of the apocalypse before their skirmish sparks another planet-destroying war.

Sneak-Peek

Regis smashed a door of an electronic store. The groovy tunes, melodic music stirred Regis.

“Make your own kind of music.”

He was so engrossed in listening to that music that he didn’t hear his watch was buzzing a warning signal. He browsed his memory to find another song.

“Another Brick in the wall.” by Pink Floyd, an old, old song.

Humans were smart. They created us, robots. But why did they create walls?” He contemplated on that absurd thought. That’s when Rick barged into the shop.

“Regis, what’re you doing?”

“Boss, I was enjoying that music.”

“You think that’s what we’re here for,” Rick said. “You’ve to understand the seriousness of this mission. Don’t be so careless. If humans found out about us, they could pose a threat to our survival. We’ve to be vigilant.”

Regis stood there, listening to Rick once again. He was about to argue but stopped in between when his view got distracted with a digital photo frame hanging on the wall. He walked close to the frame and noticed the picture of the distant planet of Mars and its moons.

“Boss, look at this picture.”

Rick was agitated already with his antics.

“Regis—”

“Boss, look at this.”

Rick turned around and looked at the photo. The faded image was of the space mission, Sputnik 2088. This was sent to Mars in 2088 and launched from Astoria. Rick verified the information in his memory.

What do you think?
